Calling from Japan: How to make cheap international calls & local calls on mobile phones with World Link
International calls & domestic calls
To make mobile phone calls from Japan with World Link you must first register your phone. Then, instead of following the instructions that came with your mobile phone, you make calls as described below. This applies to mobile phone calls within Japan as well as international calls.
For international calling enter 0063 (World Link's carrier code), followed by the country code, then the phone number including the area code.
For calls to land lines in Japan, enter 0063 and the area code and phone number. For calls to mobile phones in Japan just press 0063 and the mobile phone number.
Carrier code
The carrier code identifies the company you're using to make a call.
Area code
For international calls to most countries omit the first 0 of the area code. For domestic calls in Japan with World Link you include that 0.

Mobile phone numbers
Mobile phone numbers in Japan begin with a 3-digit code. Common codes are 090, 080 and 070. These codes occupy the same position as area codes in strings of phone numbers.
